Transition Style

In true New England fashion, in the matter of a week the weather has gone from sweltering 90 degree temperatures, to rain, to chilly summer nights. Transition pieces will help you through the hard-to-dress-for days because they can be worn all year round, depending on what you pair them with.

Ripped Jeans, (7 For All Mankind, $225, Newport Store). Leather Detail top (Alice + Olivia, $187, East Greenwich store). Black cut out booties (Joie, $245, Newport Store). Black satchel, (Rebecca Minkoff, $525, East Greenwich store).

Moto Pants( J Brand $268, Newport Store). Cream pullover, (Free People, $108, East Greenwhich store). Quilted crossbody, (Rebecca Minkoff, $195, East Greenwich store)

These light wash ripped jeans are perfect because they can be paired with a leather detail tee for now, but can easily be topped with a leather jacket or chunky sweater when it gets cold. These black Joie cut out booties (to die for!) are a fall piece but can easily be worn now with your favorite LBD.

The nude suede bootie is one of my favorite transtion pieces because they are one of the few pairs of suede shoes that can be pulled off all year, great investment piece. These would look cute with your favorite cut-off shorts and linen buttondown in the summer, but also look amazing with dark coated pants (love the zippers on this J brand pair) and a sweater. The cream sweater is a great layering piece for when you are unsure of the forecast, it's perfect to throw on over a tank or to wear alone with skinnies.

Black accessories are always chic and always in style, especially when they are Rebecca Minkoff.
